My name is Claire, an experienced, qualified accredited counsellor working with adults, children and young people for over 23 years. I provide a Counselling Service in private practice and education .
I practice as a person centred integrative counsellor, tailoring various counselling approaches and techniques to best support your individual need. I can support you with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, bereavement, stress, relationships, low self esteem, loss, anger, trauma to name but a few. I support adults, children and young people to help navigate the complexities of life, manage symptoms and feel empowered to live a more meaningful life.
Since 2001, I have worked in various primary and secondary schools in Crawley as School Counsellor. I currently work in a secondary school in Crawley and have been employed there since 2007. I also work with adults, children and young people in private practice.
I provide supervision for counsellors in training working with children and young people.
I am warm, caring, listening with empathy and without judgement to help you find a way to explore and work through your thoughts and feelings. It is my hope that you will better understand yourself and find courage to move forward with new inner strength. I truly believe that there is always hope.
I am a registered accredited member with my professional body the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their code of ethics.

2007 - Diploma 'Working with Children and Young People'.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) trained.
British Psychological Service (BPS) Supervision training
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) trained.
Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service(DBS) certificate.
Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Attend a minimum of 30 hours training per year in accordance with BACP requirements and attend fortnightly clinical supervision.
Counselling is a supportive, confidential provision to help you work through and navigate personal difficulties and life challenges. Life is not always easy and at times throws challenges our way that can be hard to deal with, I will support you.
I provide a quiet, safe and confidential space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings to help find comfort, peace, and hope. I will support you with compassion and empathy with a non-judgemental listening ear. Together we can gain insight and a better understanding of behaviour and develop strategies for positive change.
I offer a free initial 20 minute telephone consultation to help me understand your need and if I am the right person to help you. We will then agree a date and time for sessions and how you would like to meet, it can be in clinic, by Teams or Zoom. I can be flexible with days and time.
My work with children and young people will include the parent/carer for the first appointment, thereafter I work individually. We will discuss the process further during our initial telephone consultation.
Counselling is always at your pace and together we will plan number of sessions, this could be short term, long term, weekly or fortnightly tailored to your need. A session is 50 minutes.
I have a beautiful, safe, quiet and confidential room in Pound Hill, Crawley for our counselling work to happen.
I currently work in clinic on Wednesday and Friday and have flexibility during the week.
Due to working in schools, I am able to offer alternative days and time during the school holidays.

Payment made via Bank Transfer either before the session or on the day.
I require 48 hours notice for cancellations so that I can offer the appointment to another client.
